NAD Teachers Convention 2018

(Chicago, Illinois) Teachers from the North American Division congregated at the McCormick Convention Center from August 5 to 9, 2018 to attend the 2018 NAD Teachers’ Convention. Around eight thousand teachers gathered to share, learn, deepen, and broaden the understanding and appreciation of their calling through various programs and events from breakout sessions, inspirational speakers, and exhibits with the theme “Encounter Jesus: Experience Excellence”.

6th and 8th Grade Promotion Ceremonies

Guam Adventist Academy promoted nine 6th Grade and six 8th Grade students this school year 2017-2018. The 6th Grade promotion ceremony was held on the 20th of May, 2018 in the Upper Room at the Windward Hills Campus while the 8th Grade promotion ceremony was held on May 27, 2018 at the Somnak Ballroom of Westin Resort Guam.

Island-Wide Pathfinder Fair 2018

On the 15th of April, Guam Adventist Academy held the very first Guam Micronesian Pathfinder Fair at the Windward Hills campus. Pathfinder Clubs from all over the island participated in the very first event of its kind. Happy Family Kingfishers, Northern Pathfinders, Agat Waves, Korean Koko’s, Ordot Pathfinders, and GAA Maranatha Pathfinders attended the fair and participated in various activities that showcased their Pathfinder skills.

GAA Annual Piano Recital

Eager family members and friends filled the Upper Room on Sunday, March 4, 2018, to witness the talents that were shared by 18 piano student recitalists. The recitalists rendered harmonious musical pieces from classical to contemporary selections to the enjoyment of the captive audience.

International Food Fair

Guam Adventist Academy will hold its annual International Food Fair from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this coming Sunday, February 18th, at the Guam Seventh-day Adventist clinic grounds. Come and experience international vegetarian cuisines from Yugoslavia, Caribbean, Italy, Mexico, Thailand, Japan, Hawaii, Guam, USA, and China.

Lifting Your Hearts Seminar Series

Guam Adventist Academy Upper School students spent 4 days this past week learning, analyzing, and reflecting on the reality of depression and anxiety in their lives and/or the lives of people they care about.  Pastors Luis Mafnas and Mesikt Idechong conducted seminars on the importance of a positive self-concept, differentiating between depression and anxiety, recognizing signs of the conditions, and possible ways to prevent or control it.  Each seminar concluded with a breakout activity. On the first day, Pastor Mesikt discussed what made each person unique. He encouraged students to discover and accept the positive aspects of their lives.
